Websites on Zoos of the world-
Interestingly the western countries all have a lot of zoos, and animal conservation programs than the third world countries. North America USA and Canada top the list, then comes Europe.
Most of their zoos have healthy animals, education programs , research programs going. They also encourage public to have more active interest in the welfare of the animals.
There is however, a limiting factor that this research is being done on the Internet. A lot of third world countries probably have some kind of zoo , but they are not listed . In Developed countries not only a comprehensive list available on the web , but almost all zoos or animal places have their own Website. So they are easier to find in the Cyber Jungle.

International Zoo Educators Association ( IZEA)
There is an Interactive map of the world to find the local zoos.
This is basically a conservation educational site. They have a full curriculum and programs going all over the world.
Vision & Mission
IZE is a professional association dedicated to expanding the educational impact of zoos and aquariums worldwide
Its dual mission is to improve the education programs in the facilities of its members and to provide access to the latest thinking, techniques, and information in conservation education.
IZE facilitates communication and professional development among zoo/aquarium educators and liaisons with related organizations such as WAZA (The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums) and CBSG (Conservation Breeding Specialist Group).
IZE and individual members work together with other conservation organisations, including the World Zoo Organisation, the Conservation Breeding Specialist Group, and the IUCN (The World Conservation Union), to enhance the understanding of conservation issues and to share information on effective informal education methods
History
The association of the International Zoo Educators Association (IZE) was founded in 1972 by a group of European zoo educators, including those from Zoologischer Garten der Stadt Frankfurt am Main (Frankfurt Zoo) in Germany, Stichting Koninklijk Zoologisch Genootschap Natura Artis Magistra (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Paignton Zoological and Botanical Gardens (United Kingdom; Paignton Zoo Environmental Park), and Copenhagen Zoo (Denmark).
The idea behind IZE was to create a forum where professional zoo educators could meet every second year to share ideas and discuss topics of common interest. Rosl Kirchshofer, head of education at the Frankfurt Zoo, was appointed first president of the association.

Students, Teachers, Nature Lovers, Biologists, Conservationist. There is no substitute for the experience of seeing marvels of nature up close and in their natural settings. So when you can’t get out and about to visit those places, or to frequent the parks, zoos, and aviaries, check out “the Bird Zoo” This site provides information on where birds live, on the world’s ecological biomes. It will touch upon conservation issues within habitats. The arrangement of pages is biogeographical, species are grouped by the habitat or the biome they live in.
Amazon World Zoo park
This is a site about conservation of several endangered animals
They have a breeding program as well as several conservation programs. As the name suggests it is about Amazonian Rain forests, but is situated in Isle of Wight near England.
