In the name of Music piracy, the police raiding many places and victimizing innocent people for downloading and listening music, even if it is not involved in commercial trade. Govt. trying to commoditize anything and everything even the Music also. When we became democracy, we have to pay for listening Music. A most populated and poor countries like
At the time of Kings rule, this kind of barbaric law was not there. People are free to enjoy in listening/ writing/ sing/ practice music. When we become democracy, we got commoditised everything even the Music. A new kind of brahmanisation is happening in the Music/ film industry. Poor get access denied by charging higher premium.
Now in the name of music piracy and music right, some people with the help of police used to raid some shops and victimizing many. Sometime, if somebody listening a song through his computer system, then the police try to grab the equipments and make a case unnecessarily, even if it is not commercial use. In this act, only police men with some individuals are greatly benefiting.
Hence, the govt. need to review this policy and intellectual and property right should be given for a small limited period of 3 months only. Next step is the charges involved in the music CDs and availability. A permanent institution like TRAI/DOT needed now. They main duties and responsibility is to look after and ensure the charges of the Music/Film CDs. Copy right/ intellectual right protection should be removed if the producers/ singers/ and other beneficiaries break the basic rule. While fixing prices, it should be in favour of consumer only. The CDs should not cost more than Rs.25/- for new songs/ films and older one should reduce further. Hence there should not be a copy right violation. On the other hand, the singer/ producer get enough money for their efforts and such royalty is quite unnecessary.
The govt. and the judiciary come out with tough action against some individual and policeman who are conducting raids on individuals, hotels and other establishments in the name of law, and stringent action should be taken against them. This kind of unwanted action lead to brahmanisation of music and this kind of unwanted police action lead to a new kind of dalitization thus denying the access to music. In a democracy, the time has come to think when the welfare state try to protect the elite and punish the poor with silly and wrong reasons. Dont allow the music Brahmin to enslave us for protecting their elitist interest.
