ACB, on Wednesday, had raided the residences of S A Farooqi, and that of an upper division clerk Vinod Pandiya on Wednesday.
They also raided a hotel room occupied by an Udaipur-based person, who the ACB sleuths feel, worked as a conduit between land mafias and the officer. The ACB seized around Rs 6.5 lakh and some land-related documents during the raids. ACB had a tip-off that one Rakesh Kumar Sharma, resident of Udaipur, was leaving Farooqi’s residence in Shastri Nagar when he was intercepted and his car was examined on Wednesday.
Raids at Farooqi and Vinod’s residences followed. Sources said that ACB has recovered a diary and some documents proving a nexus between the middleman and the UDH officer. “We are interrogating the them and some clues regarding land deals have come up,” said an ACB officer.
