Woman constable caught taking bribe
AHMEDABAD: A woman head constable in Gandhinagar was trapped by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday at the police station.
According to ACB officials, they had received a complaint against Kanta Chaudhary two days ago.
“Chaudhary was investigating a case of harassment against the complainant. She had received an application on that matter some time back. When the complainant went for the statement, she asked him to furnish Rs 1,500 or face arrest,” said an ACB official.
The complainant then narrated his tale to ACB. The officials prepared him and sent him with the marked currency notes. When Chaudhary accepted the notes, the officials nabbed her.”We have arrested her on corruption charges and started investigation to know whether she was involved in any other similar case,” said an ACB official.
