Secretariat employee in ACB net
HYDERABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) investigators conducted simultaneous searches on the offices and properties of a Secretariat employee, Thoom Gopal Reddy, and trapped a bench clerk of a Junior Civil Judge Court, Chevella, Rangareddy district since Monday night.
According to a press release issued here, the ACB personnel conducted searches on the offices and properties of T Gopal Reddy, assistant secretary (registration and stamps) revenue department, Secretariat, and unearthed assets worth over Rs one crore, allegedly disproportionate to his known sources of income.
His assets include a house at DD Colony, Bagh Amberpet, a flat at New Nallakunta, nine plots at Bagh Amberpet, Kondapur, Karmanghat, Pocharam, Yamnampet, Ghatkesar mandal, 3.24 guntas of agricultural land at Injapur, Hayathnagar mandal of Rangareddy district.
Searches also yielded one kg of gold ornaments, household articles worth Rs 3.35 lakh, including building material, net cash of Rs 92,000 and a Honda Activa scooter from his residence. His bank transactions and other financial documents are being checked. Gopal Reddy was arrested. He would be produced before the Special Judge for ACB Cases, Hyderabad.
In the second case, ACB investigators caught red-handed J Jabez, a bench clerk in the Junior Civil Judge court, Chevella, in Rangareddy district, while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 for giving challan and decree to the complainant. The tainted amount, Rs 3,000, was recovered from the left side shirt pocket of the clerk along with the challan amount of Rs 1,900. Both the hands of the bench clerk yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Jabez was arrested on Tuesday and produced before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.
