Rs 96 lakh more found from RCDF Dymanager
AJMER: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday seized Rs 96 lakh more from the lockers of two different banks of Surender Kumar Sharma, a deputy manager of Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF), who was arrested by the agency last week. There are about 12 more lockers in different banks which ACB has to open. Till now, the ACB has unearthed black money of more than Rs 2 crore from Sharma.
The ACB sleuths were surprised to see such huge amount of money in the lockers. After getting orders from the court on Wednesday, the team opened Sharma’s locker at Bank of Baroda. “We got Rs 46 lakh in cash and some silver ornaments. Later, we opened another locker at State Bank of India and found Rs 50 lakh in cash,” an ACB official said.
Acting on a tip off, Sharma was trapped by the ACB and arrested while taking bribe on August 6. On the same day, the agency conducted raid at his Ajmer residence and recovered Rs 1.5 lakh.
It is alleged that Sharma was involved in selling fodder in black market which was distributed on reserved price.
“Considering the amount of money recovered from Sharma, it is believed that he was involved in illegal activities for a long time,” said an official.
