Criminal cases against 2 PGI doctors, others
CHANDIGARH: Criminal cases for procuring admission in PG course at Post Graduation Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, on the basis of impersonation and manipulation, were registered against two doctors and a few other persons.
According to sources, CBI sleuths raided the PGIMER early Tuesday morning and seized documents from there.
The two doctors were arrested after detailed questioning on Tuesday by Anti-Corruption Branch of Central Bureau of investigation (CBI), Chandigarh.
The CBI registered the criminal case following allegations against Dr Amit Musale and Dr Sujay Sonawane currently with pharmacology and paediatrics departments of PGIMER.
According to the CBI, both obtained admission in the PGIMER through an organized racket after they coughed up lakhs of rupees.
CBI also revealed that the admissions to government colleges are obtained by impersonation. In such cases, some brilliant student, part of the organized racket, appears in the entrance exam on behalf of the aspiring candidate.
