CR official seeks mobile as bribe, held
Mumbai: When an assistant commercial manager of the Central Railway demanded a “modest’’ bribe of a Nokia cellphone from his subordinate recently, little did he know that the CBI sleuths were listening in.
The CBI’s anti-corruption branch on Tuesday arrested S C Pathak from his CST office after he allegedly accepted the Nokia 6300 model, worth Rs 7,500, from his subordinate. He had reportedly demanded the bribe to clear night-duty allowance bills of the junior.
Pathak had earlier reportedly demanded Rs 25,000 to clear bills. He was produced in a special CBI court on Tuesday and granted interim bail for a day. He has o appear again on Thursday. TNN
