Cooperative registrar satffer caught accepting bribe….Sobha Ruby
AHMEDABAD: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) sleuths caught a government clerk accepting bribe on Monday. Acting on a complaint filed by Suresh Chandra Goswami, ACB officials trapped Arvind Damor, a clerk at the office of Gujarat State Cooperative Registrar.
According to Goswami, he had purchased a house in Bapunagar on August 2. However, the society members told him that since he did not belong to their community, they shall not transfer ownership of the house to him.
Goswami then filed an appeal against the housing cooperative society at the Gujarat State Cooperative Registrar. Damor, a senior clerk who is stationed in Gulbai Tekra office asked for a bribe of Rs 5,500 for a judgement in Goswami’s favour.
Goswami then filed a complaint with ACB on Monday. ACB officials in plain clothes accompanied Goswami when he went to bribe Damor and caught the government employee red-handed.
