A suffering Animal Story
The other day I had gone to Ghansoli near Kalamboli in Navi Mumbai area for buying a marble temple for my home and came across a beautiful dog whose leg was crushed by some negligent vehicle driver and the dog was in a desperate state of affairs. It must had happened several days back and the leg was badly swollen and virtually hanging with the body. The unbearable pain that was being suffered by the animal was evident.
I kept my work aside and desperately contacted several NGO’s and everyone made one or the other excuse and no NGO came to the rescue of the suffering animal. They talked about their limitations and boundries. I am really surprised. Can there be any limitation for a good cause or boundries for executing a good cause??? One NGO finally agreed to pick up the suffering dog after lots of pursuation but did not turn up. I still curse my conscience and feel guilty that I could not help the suffering animal but do not know what these NGO’s think their role could be once they float the NGO and pledge to help the suffering animals.
