According to Ajit Singh of Guria (an NGO), Razia, the 14-year-old daughter of a weaver Phulanu was missing since January 31. On the information given by a Mumbai-based NGO, volunteers of Guria visited Mumbai and returned on Wednesday with Razia. After returning home, Razia made sensational revelation. Razia said initially one Pervez of Pakadia Kund locality trapped her in a love affair after which Rabia alias Andewali assured her that she would arrange a wedding between them.
On January 31, Pervez and his friend Rockey took Razia to Sarnath where they raped her and made a video clipping. On February 1, they took Razia to Mughalsarai and handed her over to a strange man. He was to take her to Mumbai. Pervez assured that he would also reach Mumbai on the next day but he did not go there. On the other hand, after taking her to Mumbai, the man informed her that he had bought Razia against the payment of Rs 50,000. She was also blackmailed by showing the same video clipping. She was sexually abused repeatedly in a hotel room there.
Razia somehow managed to escape from the clutches of those buyers and reached a police station. Mumbai police handed over the girl to a shelter home run by an NGO in Domari (Mumbai). The same NGO contacted Ajit Singh of Guria who sent a team of his volunteers with the parents of Razia to Mumbai. The team returned with Razia on February 3. Ajit said when he contacted Jaitpura police on same day to lodge an FIR against the persons who had sold Razia, the police asked him to turn up on Thursday.
However, despite bringing the matter to the knowledge of IG Range and SP City, the Jaitpura police avoided lodging a complaint. Finally, Guria made a global appeal through internet after which the DGP office ordered Jaitpura police to lodge an FIR immediately. With the intervention of DGP office, the Jaitpura police not only lodged a named FIR against Andewali, Raushan, Pervez, Rockey and Bhakuhi, but also arrested Andewali and Raushan within a few hours. When SO Jaipura PS Rana was contacted on Friday, he said he had got clues of Pervez and Rockey and they could be arrested by late night.
Razia surely returned home safely but Momina Khatun of Nakkhighat is still running from pillar to post to know the whereabouts of her daughter Shazida who was sold by the same racket in 2007. Rana admitted that an FIR was lodged against the members of the racket and a chargesheet was also submitted before the court in that regard. Rabia’s son-in-law Mukhtar was also made an accused in Shazida case. Despite all the efforts, the police have failed to get any clues of Shazida.
