The Chairman
Road Monitoring Committee (RMC)
Re: Problems related to Road Traffic & Footpaths at Andheri Kurla Road, Andheri East Exact Location : Near A bldg. Mukund Nagar Society / Mukund Hospital.
We ( Consumer Complaints Cell ) are a voluntary NGO located at Mukund Nagar, Andheri Kurla Road, Andheri East. Following problems are brought to your kind attention for getting solved by the concerned authorities: –
1. Although the road is constructed opposite A bldg. Of Mukund Nagar where there is a branch of IDBI Bank located and an Entrance point to Mukund Hospital exists, there has been no storm water drainage built. Although till the end of IDBI Bank the drainage is built, it is kept open and the muck / all kinds of wastage is thrown in it keeping it constantly chocked up, endangering the health and overflow on the road.
2. As there is no Footpath built from A building, the pedestrians are forced to traverse thru uneven debris filled surface or by jumping on the steps of the Bank, which causes inconvenience and hazard to the pedestrians as well as Bank Customers.
3. The height of Footpath is hardly 7inch and the width is about 9 ft. But In this portion there is a pillar of BEST bus stop and also a traffic pole, which are further obstructions for the free movement. After this, two telephone junction boxes are located on the area earmarked for the footpath. However, an immense inconvenience and health hazard is the opening of storm water drain which is in between the Bus /Traffic pillars and Bank entrance. Due to frequent choke ups the water spills out in the walking space and on road and gets accumulated creating further hazards. The entire area is unfenced. And if any Bus stop shelter is built, there will be hardly and space left for pedestrians to walk.
4. It is requested that the concerned authorities should immediately
a) Construct proper and covered storm water drainage and build a footpath.
b) Get the Bust stop and traffic light pillers relocated nearby so that an easy ingress and agress is done to the bank or the society .
c) Shift the storm water drain opening from its present location to about 10 away to avoid inconvenience as this is just opposite entrance of the bank
. Four different photographs of the location, footpath and the state of open storm water drain are attached.
