Dear Ms Radhika,
Wed like to take this opportunity to introduce to you a special corporate initiative taken up by the leading healthcare corporates in the country to partner schools in safeguarding the happy and healthy growth of young children in the changing lifestyle trends in large cities.
In the initial years, growing children have the maximum need for a balanced and nutritional diet to make a strong foundation for a healthy life. In fact it is a noted fact that children need more quality nourishment than adults.
However owing to the changing lifestyle of parents, most of whom are working couples in case of public school students, these nutritional needs are increasingly getting left out at home. The parents are aware of this but can do little. Once outside the house, the children prefer to fill their stomachs with junk food and aerated beverages. Therefore, there is a strong need for an efficient alternate mechanism to regularly administer these essential nutrients to the children.
Leading health corporates including GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Consumer Healthcare Ltd and P D Hinduja Hospital have come together to partner leading schools like yours in providing a nutritional platform to the students.
This special initiative consists of two parts:
1.) A complete health check-up of all primary school students to analyze their nutritional needs and deficiencies.
2.) Installations of specially designed Boost/Horlicks vending machines in the school to provide all the students a nourishing drink in the school itself.
The health check up Camp will be organized for the kids of primary school (Nursery 4th Standard). The health camp will be conducted and on the final day a Paediatric Talk will be organized for the parents. In the Health Camp the doctors from P D Hinduja Hospital will do the physical and systemic exanimation and highlight the nutritional deficiencies, if any. The health check-up for all students of pre-primary and primary is done at no cost to the school or the parents.
A Pediatric talk will be organized for the parents in the school premises where the parents can interact with the Pediatrician and the Nutritionist about the queries related to their childs health.
A follow up health camp after six months will be organized for the children who have been detected with the deficiencies, to analyse the improvement recorded.
GSK will install specially designed vending machine for Horlicks and Boost in the school, at no cost to the school. Through the initiation of a Kool Kids Klub in the school the children will have a nutritious alternative. This club experience will make the students look forward to the initiative in a fun loving manner. The vending machine, installed in the school, will vend various tasty flavours of Horlicks (Regular, Chocolate, Vanilla and Boost). The parents will pay @ Rs. 5 per day for the administration out of which Re 1 per day will be left back with the school to compensate for the handling and logistic activities.
As a school that always champions the cause of well being of its students, were sure youd wholeheartedly support this initiative. In addition to helping a great cause for the students, were sure this program will usher in a lot many similar corporate initiatives to partner schools in producing better and healthier citizens of tomorrows India.
Thanking You,
Warm Regards
