60 cases of swine flu detected in Mumbai, BMC gears up
Mumbai, Jun 23 (PTI) With over 60 reported positive cases of swine flu, including nine pregnant women, since June 1 this year, the Brinhanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is gearing up to prevent further spread of the dreaded virus.
“Of the 149 tests, almost 60 positive cases of swine flu have been reported in the city since June 1. We have issued an advisory to all the out-patient departments of our hospitals and dispensaries to take the swabs of those showing even mild swine flu symptoms,” Additional Municipal Commissioner Manisha Mhaiskar said.
Out of the 60 positive cases, 47 are adults and 13 are children. The tests results of 18 male adults and 29 female were found positive. Out of these 29 females, nine were pregnant.
“Due to early monsoon, number of swine flu cases have increased and there is definite rise in number of positive cases as well.
