- Chennai Municipal Corporation: Burkit Rd., T. Nagar
From: Padmanabhan VP
For the last 20 yrs I staying at Burkit Road,T.Nagar and I have noticed the lot of changes in and around this place.Due to heavy traffic in the morning and evening hours via Burkit Road is unberable and it is difficult tocross the road and walking on the pavements is not possible.Secondly in earlier times all the buses starting fr Bus terminus used to pass through Burkit and turn to Venkatanarayan Road to go to Panagal Park ad other destinations. Now a days all the buses are plying vis Burkit Road and pass through Thanikachalam Road to reach Pondy Bazaar for which there is notification with the result that passengers are waiting at the bus stop at Venkatanarayan road. This is most inconvenience to the bus passengers. There should be some notification to that effect either in the news papers or a notice board at the bus stop. There is another inconvience of having a EBbox at the junction of burkit road and the enter to the corporation Bank.It is not possible enter the premises where the Bank is situated as the passage is so narrow and often having a heavy traffic in the morning .I suggust that the Eb Box is not necessay to keep it there which can be shifted to some other place or keep; it inside the compound of the building.Hope the Muncipical Chennai corporation will take note of this and take some action in the matter.

Dr.Pillai and his associate took me for visit and get me to a hospital, where every treatment is charged except leprosy cases.
They just get donations and say that they pass it on to the hospital.
I have also visited their office, and found quite large paraphernalia, and some how or other I could not get convinced about this organization.
Actually such organization should work by itself, and not just exist for raising funds for other hospital which is paid, and it is a very big and large Christian hospital.

[ Dear Krish,
I also manage a business and other interests, I can not take Karmayog beyond e.g. to cities like Chennai, though that has been an expressed wish by several people before.
You are welcome to take any ideas from Karmayog and take them ahead.
There are some people in the group who would like to join forces for Chennai. I hope they respond to you.
Vinay
PS: It would be great if all those “Wanted” type of eyesore hoardings can be removed from Chennai. We are beginning to see again a proliferation of those in Mumbai. ]
