1. What is the need for / value of rating NGOs? (conceptual reasons as well as from your personal experiences i.e. in case they were rated, how would it have helped you?)
Ratings of NGO’s should be done by the quantum and quality of the work they do.
2. On what different criteria should / can NGOs / nonprofits / charities / trusts be rated?
Same as above. Trust should not be considered by the money turn over.
3. Who should rate them? i.e. backgrounds of such organisations or individuals
Charitable Commisioners office or a team of good citizens.
4. Which NGOs in your (subjective) opinion are outstanding ones in Mumbai?
The women ones. cant remember their name
Quick responses would be appreciated.
I have a point in this matter which lot of people will think it impractical.
But I feel most of the Trusts that operate in the country seem to dublicate the work done by each other.
In other words two Trusts give the same person. If areas are divided for such work to each trust then I think lot of work will be done at a faster pace, fruitfuly and systematically.
