Sunbeam Trust, Mumbai : Monthly Activities Report for December 2006

Unit Test 2 was held at all the Sunbeam study centers in the second week of December.

Our Sunbeam children come from diverse backgrounds – and the results reflect the circumstances that they have to confront on a daily basis. Irrespective of the upbringing and environment that they are exposed to, our kids have to frequently face distressing situations and struggles that you, as our friends and well-wishers, may not be aware of.  Sunbeam reaches out to street children, slum children, mill workers children, domestic workers children and children of commercial sex workers. Each group has its own troubles and complications – but all of them need to be approached and handled in a sensitive, caring manner.

Besides the Academic Progress Report that will give you an update on the education activities, also attached is a personal experience from Vinay Trilokekar, our new Education Manager (for Chandanwadi & Bandra), who visited one of our child’s home. Vinay has worked all his life in the corporate world – but now he has decided to devote his time in the service of underprivileged children.
