SEMINAR ON
EMPLOYABILITY OF THE DISABLED
BY NASSCOM FOUNDATION & MBA FOUNDATION.
The Seminar On 18th Jan., 2007 Was A Great Success. And Contributing To The Success Was The Tone, Content And Positive Attitude Of The Corporate Participants Which Promises To Be A Path Breaking Factor In Taking The Empowerment Of Disabled Further Through Training And Placements.
The Seminar Was A Different Experience, Where, Instead Of NGOs Questioning The Corporate Houses Why They Havent Given Employment To The Disabled, It Was The Corporate Houses Like Infosys, ITC Ltd., and Mphaysis, Who Detailed How They Have Been Successful In Opening Up The Opportunities Of Employment For PWDs With Proper Care, Facilities And Sensitizing The Other Employees In Making It A Success. It Is A Start Where Many Other Organizations Have Been Prompted To Make Similar Attempts.
More than 150 people participated in the seminar which comprised of corporate leaders like NASSCOM Vice Chairman, Mr. Harish Mehta, Lt. Col. Shankar of Indian Oil, Mr. Khatri of ITC Welcome Group, Mrs. Asha Arvind of ESSAR Group, Ms. Haseen Taj of Citigroup, and the like from different industry sectors; NGO chiefs like Sudha Balachandra of NASEOH, and candidates for employment.
Now, Towards The Next Step Towards Executive Development, Training And Placement; The Line Of Action, Where Everyone Can, Through Their Contributions Help Make This Step A 100% Success For The Candidates.
