TOI : Now, city suburbs to get two super-speciality hospitals : Nov 1,2007
Mumbai: The suburbs will have two super-speciality hospitalsone each in the eastern and western suburbs. The BMC currently runs three such institutionsKEM, Sion and Nairin the island city.
In a statement before the standing committee on Wednesday, the civic administration spoke about its intention to convert Centenary Hospital (Kandivli) into a super-speciality hospital. The BMC is also planning a hi-tech hospital of 500 beds on a 20-acre plot in Govandi. The project will cost Rs 100 crore.
They will have facilities like trauma care, ICU, paediatric ICU, urology, plastic surgery and neurology, said additional municipal commissioner Kishore Gajbhiye. TNN
