MMRDA to plant one crore trees
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) yesterday decided to launch a Green Program, which will include plantation of one crore trees and water harvesting in the city and suburbs. It also plans to develop a central e-waste disposal facility to dispose the 11,017 tonnes of e-waste the city generates annually.
These decisions were taken at the 127th Authority meeting, headed by CM Ashok Chavan and Guardian Minister Naseem Khan among others.
