LEARN THE A- Z OF THE ENVIRONMENT
THE BILINGUAL GREEN GUIDE FOR TEACHERS RELEASED BY THE BOMBAY NATURAL HISTORY SOCIETY ( BNHS) IS A USEFUL TOOL FOR KIDS TO WARM UP TO OUR ENVIRONMENT
Recently, as part of the World Environment Day celebrations in Mumbai, Green Guide for Teachers was launched by Usha Thorat, Vice- President of BNHS. This book, which is meant to make environment education simpler and accessible to the average school kid, will be distributed free of cost to schools and even colleges.
“ While the content is more relevant to the average school- going student, even colleges might find it useful,” informs Atul Sathe, Public Relations Officer, BNHS. The book was created with help of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust ( English version) and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Environment Improvement Society ( Marathi version).
This bilingual resource manual explains environment education such that students can use the concepts and facts for their environment projects as well as help increase their knowledge about flora and fauna, India’s national parks and sanctuaries, endangered species in India and ways to connect with nature, like nature trails, bird watching and hand- made paper.
