We are currently looking for people to work with us who have the following
skills and experience:
General Skills, Knowledge and experience required:
Project Management including leading teams
Staff Management
Communication, networking and relationship building
Knowledge of Legal Frameworks
Experience of working within a union/labour context
Specific skills:
Ability to research, strategize and implement plans in the context of a
campaign;
Ability to design and execute campaign strategy and tactics.
Experience in designing and facilitating Adult education workshops in a
union/activist context
Ability to design an activist development programme utilizing adult
education methods
Ability to use educational settings to facilitate goal setting and develop
field based work plans
Investigative research experience, including industry, corporate and issue
research;
Ability to conduct Corporate Research: analyzing a company and its position
within geographic market and industry; compiling company history and current
developments; evaluating finances and business plan; and utilizing industry’s
regulatory structure.
Day to Day responsibilities of the role include:
Working with union leaders to develop campaign strategy (both for field
work, as well as legal, political and media tactics)
Relationship development with union leaders
Relationship development with other stakeholders including NGO’s and
campaigning organisations
Campaign Strategy implementation both locally and nationally
Research where necessary
Management of field staff
Management of finances and budget
