Kangaroo Kids Education Ltd hosted a Katputli show followed by a lunch party for HIV/Aids affected children at Ashray. This shelter has over 57 children between 2-13 years of age, rescued from various red light areas. It is Ashray’s aim to work towards the long term rehabilitation of these children either by placing them in boarding schools or with their extended families, arranging for foster care or placing them for adoption. And it is KKEL’s dream to be able to provide them with all the support they require. There was a traditional Rajasthani katputli show, where a professional who has performed the same show at our various schools entertained the kids.
KKEL has floated a trust called “Kangaroo Kids Bal Atma Jyoti Trust” through this trust the excess funds saved from all its schools go into social activities at Ashray. The teachers from KKEL visit Ashray every weekend to educate their children. KKEL in conjunction with Ashray plans to hold various events in its school to facilitate the growth & betterment of the children.
The students at KKEL’s, Billabong High International School, at Santacruz & Kangaroo Kids at Pali Hill recently hosted a World Fest, where, there was not only information about various countries & their culture available but also their lifestyles & habits. The Fest had traditional food from different countries & the students sold artworks which they had done, the proceeds from the sale, of course with the permission of the parents, have gone towards organizing the party at Ashray. It is the effort of our school children & their parents that made this event possible.
