Dr.Bharat V.Shah ,M.D.,DNB , a consultant Nephrologist at Lilavati Hospital is very active in creating awareness about kidney diseases and helping those with kidney disease. He does so under the banner of  Narmada kidney Foundation by the way of organizing educational meeting, publishing relevant newsletters and books, and providing medicines commonly used by the kidney patient at concessional rates.

 

The foundation has join hands with K-Care Incorporation for providing Home Dialysis Service. The C.E.O of K-care Incorporation, Mr.Aashish Mangal is also a Director of a well known pharmaceutical manufacturing unit, which is in this field since 1988.  

 

For providing this service we are ready with, a portable hemodialysis machine, a portable water treatment plant and an ambulance to carry the same to the patient residence.

 

The basic USP of the service is to give the dialysis treatment to the required patient at there DOOR step.

 

The benefits for the service are:

a)      The patient in no way has to travel to & fro to the hospital for his treatment.

b)      No earning/Non earning attended needed for the patient to get dialysis done.

c)      No waiting time.

d)      Many uncounted benefits………………

 

Our Plans:

We plan to launch the service with one set of machine i.e. 1 Dialysis machine,1 RO water plant and the consumables required for the same. We plan to do 3 Dialysis in a day with this set up.

 

Number of Dialysis that can be done:

As dialysis is to be done 3 times a week for the best and optimum results, so we can only cater 6 patients with this setup ( 3 per day x 2 days = 6 patients, & then the same set of 3 patients is repeated). By working 6 days a week for nearly 15 hours a day.

 

Area of operation:

We at initial stage plan to launch this service on the western line only.

 

Requirement at the place of dialysis:

The basic requirements for taking this service are

a)      The patient should have an excess to his/her flat through a lift.

b)      Water tap to be provided.

c)      Electric point to be provided.

 

Working of the project:

The patient requiring dialysis will get in touch with us on 9870120999.Our team will inspect the premises of the patient and suggest some changes if required to be made at the place of dialysis in accordance to the requirement mentioned above. As soon as the requirement is fulfilled the next session of dialysis required by the patient can be done at his residence.

 

Dialysis shift Timings:

We plan to have 3 dialysis timing slot

Morning          : 7.30 am to 12.30pm

Afternoon       : 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm

Evening           :  6.30 pm to 11.00 pm

 

Charges:

The charges per dialysis will be Rs.2500/- (Dialyser and tubing extra)

 

Launch Date:

Launch of the service was held on 26^th January 2007,6.00pm at Goregaon sports club,Ground floor,Banquet hall,link road,malad(west),mumbai-400064 .Shree Subhas Desai(senior Siv Sena leader & MLA from goregaon) & Dr.Mrs.V.N.Acharcha inaugurated the Service. Dr.U.C.Mashelkar (Principal Patkar collage,goregaon) was also present for the function.

Many dialysis and non dialysis kidney patient attended the ceremony. Dr.Bharat V.Shah also replied to the questions of the patient and the guest on this occasion. Dr.Bharat V.Shah Mentioned that “this type of service is surely not present in any part of the globe” this statement was also endorsed by Dr.V.N.Acharya adding to this Dr.Acharya said “ This is surely a noble and innovative concept, country like India has the brain and manpower to provide this service with dedication”.
