One rupee a day to support the education of underprivileged children
I am writing in from Singapore because I read an article about an organisation called Projectwhy in New Delhi, which is doing great work for education of the children in the slums.
The leader of the organization, Ms Anouradha Bakshi, has been chosen as the Asian Hero of the month, and her story and the story of the six hunderd children she is supporting was published in The Straits Times recently.
Read the story here:

and for some of the responses from Singapore, check here:

Anouradha Bakshi is trying her best to educate slum children, which to my mind is a great way of solving India’s problems, once educated, these children will become a solution in themselves. When foreigners can recognise her contributions and rush to her aid, I guess as Indians we can too. And she is not asking much: just 1 rupee a day.
If she gets a rupee a day from 4000 people, she says she is able to take her project further.

To talk to her, call: +919811424877 from outside India, and 09811424877
Please donate a rupee a day, and ask others to do the same. This is a genuine organisation and deserves your support.
