Donations & Education

As a responsible citizen your company takes keen interest in the well being of the society The Company encouraged and supported various sports, cultural and religious activities. Your company also offered medical assistance to local community and donated medical equipment

Government of India has taken up a project of upgradation of government owned I.T.Is through public private partnership and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry is coordinating this activity. At the request of FICCI, Finolex group has adopted I.T.I Ratnagiri in the name of the company and I.T.I Lonavala in the name of Finolex Cables Limited

The Andhra Pradesh Government has agreed to provide 50 acres of land free of cost to Finolex Group for establishing a rural residential public school at Kodur, Settigunta , Kadapa District.

The Hope Foundation and Research Centre is a Public Charitable Trust established by Mr. P. P. Chhabria in 1979 (The Year of the Child). The Foundation is largely funded by the Finolex Group and pursues its charitable objectives in the twin fields of medicine and education.

Medicine-

Kalpana Mammography Centre, Pune
The Hope Foundation was a pioneer in the establishment of a well equipped Kalpana Mammography Centre in Pune for early detection of breast cancer.
The Centre was inaugurated in August 1993 by Smt. Pratibhatai Pawar, wife of the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Sharadrao Pawar. The Centre is effectively working with its team of Radiographers under the guidance of a panel of eminent Radiologists and has done more than 8000 mammographies so far.
It provides free medicines including life-saving drugs and treatment such as chemotherapy to the economically backward members of the society mainly to fight the scourge of cancer and related diseases.
The Foundation also provides financial assistance to enable treatment of cancer. The Foundation continues to distribute costly life-saving drugs for the poor cancer patients irrespective of their caste, creed or social status on the recommendation of recognised medical/surgical specialists without any motive for profit. Services are provided free of charge to the poor and with concession to those who can afford to pay.

AIDS Project

Now the Foundation is assisting University of South Florida, USA and Ruby Hall Clinic, Pune, in a project to build local capacity and make Indian Medical Scientists self-sufficient to conduct activities independently through training and research.
The goal of this project is to continue and strengthen medical, public health, biomedical and behavioural training programs to further Infectious diseases and HIV/AIDS research and prevention in India.

Education

Finolex Academy Of Management & Technology, Ratnagiri

The Hope Foundation’s Education Division commenced with the establishment of the Finolex Academy Of Management & Technology (FAMT) which is the first Engineering College at Ratnagiri on the west coast of Maharashtra.
The College has been set up on 140,000 sq ft. of land located in M.I.D.C. Mirjole, Ratnagiri and is offering educational opportunities since 1996 to the students of this backward region.
The Finolex Academy of Management & Technology is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It has also obtained the approval of the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and offers four-year degree courses in Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
The Academy has also received approval from AICTE and Government of Maharashtra to start courses in Information Technology branch of engineering at the Academy.
Established with an investment of Rs. 10 crores, the Academy boasts of well-equipped classrooms and science laboratories, a library, workshops, residential quarters for the Director and staff and hostel facilities for the students. The total strength of the Academy is around 720 students for the current academic year.

International Institute of Information Technology, Pune ( I2IT)

The International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT – pronounced I square IT) rated amongst the top Technology schools in India (NASSCOM-IDC-Dataquest May �05) is situated amongst IT leaders such as Infosys, Wipro, Tata Technologies and Cognizant at the Infotech Park, Hinjewadi, in Pune.
Bharat Ratna Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, the Honorable President of India, on the 28th of May 2003 dedicated I2IT to the nation. With a curriculum developed an delivered by leading academicians and industry professionals, I2IT provides aspirants with full residential MS and MA Programs in Advanced Technology. The Institute is an approved center of the university of Pune for research leading to Ph. D in Engineering.
Collaborating with universities and educational institutions from all over the world I2IT offers programs that are internationally recognized and industry – relevant. I2IT attracts and trains the brightest students from all over India as well as other countries. I2IT provides state-of-the-art infrastructure, excellent research environment and highly qualified faculty to fully develop a student�s potential.
