Strong youth movement can remove corruption
Mumbai: A strong youth movement in the country only can remove corruption and each student should take a vow to begin this exercise courageously within the family, former President A P J Abdul Kalam said here today.
“We are a billion people and with at least two billion houses. Corruption begins at home and around 60 million houses are estimated corrupt and it is the duty of each student to curb corruption in their own homes first, Kalam said while interacting with engineering students of Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute at Matunga.
It is only youth movement in the country which can remove and finally eradicate corruption and enjoy a corruption-free India by 2020 when it will be transformed into a developed country, he said replying a question from a student how to make India free from corruption.
Kalam also asked the engineering students to take a pledge to teach at least five people who do not know how to read and write in the nearest village so that India can be transformed into a 100 per cent literate country soon.
Replying to a question why India is seen only as an outsourcing BPO country in software technology, Kalam said, “so far India has not gone for Knowledge System Power and I have suggested NASSCOM that India should have system management, system integration in place so that the country’s earning capacity will go up,” he said.
