Mumbai: After Bollywood biggies like Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan, the world of blogging will soon see a new entrantR R Patil. The deputy chief minister, who is also in charge of the home department, has decided to hop on to the blog bandwagon to reach out to the public.
According to sources, after initiating Gadgebaba Abhiyan (cleanliness campaign), a total ban on dance bars in the state and Mahatma Gandhi Tantamukti (dispute-free village campaign), Patil is now trying to connect with the common man with the help of technology. Patil who has started his website (www.rrpatil.com) is soon going to blog there. This means that people from urban and rural areas with access to and knowledge of computers will not have to travel all the way to Mantralaya with their grievances. sources said.
Confirming this, a senior home department official said, We received a lot of complaints about people unable to meet Patil. He will now reply to queries and address grievances through his web site and blog. While all serious complaints will be looked into by Patil himself, other issues will be taken care of by officials handling the site. Acknowledgment of complaints registered will be sent through an e-mail to the complainant.
The site and blog is meant to gap the bridge between Patil and the public, said Bipin Shrimali, secretary to Patil. All efforts are being taken to prevent the site from being hacked, an official said.
