Altogether 10,483 rural and 1,336 urban Maha e-Seva Kendras are expected to be set up by August 2009.
Under the scheme, one Maha e-Seva Kendra in every four villages would be set up. The project a part of the Common Services Centres scheme, is being implemented on a Public Private Partners mode and the aim is to establish rural kiosks.
The CSCs would deliver webenabled anytime, anywhere access to information and services across the region, especially in rural and remote parts of Maharashtra.
It is aimed at not only rolling out IT infrastructure but to build a network of rural business centres across the state, official sources said.
