| 1. Period of incident: | 2008 – Feb |
| 2. Services that were sought: | Tranfer of Vehicle |
| 3. Problem/s i faced: | Fees for Transfer of Vehicle is only Rs.30/- but to get it transferred one has to pay Rs.120/- under table. If any one goes on his own he wont be able to get his vehicle transferred and is to be done thru agent only. Its not only for transfer of vehicle but any kind of services bribe is must. |

| 5 a. Was the bribe paid? | The bribe was paid by the agent, and I told him that why did he pay so he said if we dont pay we wont be able to get the work done, I said if I go personally, he said your re g. book will be lost. |
| 5 b. Could the work have been done without paying the bribe? | Well if I would have gone directly, I am sure I wont have paid the bribe of a single rupee. |
| 6. Result: | What actions can I take? But I have sent the e mail to Surat Police Commissioner about this practice going on in traffic department. |

| D: My Suggestions | |
| 1. Suggestions for head of government department: | I would suggest that to curb the corrupstion in all government department, there should be instruction in each and every department of government, about the procedure, time period for the wor k to be done and actual amount only to be paid on the cash counter and no other place. |
| Suggestion 2: | And like wise that buyer of stolen goods is liable to punishment, the person who pays must be fined, and I am sure if such kind of measures are being taken then this corruption can surely be curbed. |
| 2. Suggestions for the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) / Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI): | Strict measures to be followed |
| 3. Suggestions for other citizens: | Any citizen who is really intersted in helping his own country such corruption, all they should do is just refuse paying bribe and try to get the work according to ministerial rules only. |
