The Foreign Contribution Regulation Bill, 2006 has been introduced and is now being examined by the Standing Committee on Home. This law will replace the FCRA, 1976. We are preparing a Legislative Brief examining the implications of the proposals.
This law affects every NGO that receives contribution from any foreign source. (“Foreign source” includes any company with 50%+ shares held by non-Indians – so this includes companies such as ICICI and Infosys).
Have you read this Bill? [The bill is uploaded in https://www.karmayog.org/fcra/ ]
It might also be useful to pass the Bill along to the affected NGOs.
