| B: My Complaint Details | |
| 1. Period of incident: | 2009 – Nov |
| 2. Services that were sought: | First Time Registration of Sale Deed of Keppel-Purvankara Elita Promenade in JP Nagar 7th Phase. |
| 3. Problem/s I faced: | Bribery. They asked for a minimum of 15,000 and sometimes more to get 90%+ of the properties registered. |
| 4. Bribe amount: | 15,000 |
| 5 a. Was the bribe paid? | NO. I found it morally incorrect. As a result, my property hasn’t been registered yet and I still run around the registrar’s office every week! |
| 5 b. Could the work have been done without paying the bribe? If so, how? | NO. I ran around the registrar’s office multiple times, but they refused to proceed without the bribe. Elita folks told customers that nothing can be done lest we pay. |
| 6. Result: | I haven’t been able to get the property registered. It has been over 8 months. I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to pay a single penny as bribe. Morals aside, I really cannot afford to pay the bribe either. |

| D: My Suggestions | |
| 1. For head of government department: | |
| Suggestion 1: | Punish the people who took bribes BADLY and take their jobs away. Make an example of it, so that they would fear to do that again. |
| Suggestion 2: | Keep a CBI officials in the Registrar’s Office who can help customers like us without harassing us for bribes. |
| Suggestion 3: | I was told that the builders’ men make a cut from what we pay to the Registrar as bribe. Punish these acts SEVERELY. |
| 2. For the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) / Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI): | |
| Suggestion 1: | Please do something about this issue. We are tired of paying bribes. It is unnecessary and the system stinks. WE DO NOT WISH TO PAY A SINGLE PENNY AS BRIBE. Please make sure that property registration is transparent. If needed, put the people behind the bars for taking or even asking for bribes. |
| Suggestion 2: | Keep Phone numbers of CBI officers on display at the Registrar’s office who can help within an hour of the issue. |

| Suggestion 1: | Please do not pay bribes in any form. Not only is it illegal and morally incorrect, it makes India one of the most corrupt and disgusting places to live at. STOP BRIBERY. |
