year, part of which would be used to fund 2.3 crore cataract surgeries.

Dr. Badrinath along with fellow philanthropist established Sankara Nethralaya
in 1978. Around 1400 people work with the group of Hospitals. Sankara Nethralaya
performs 100 surgeries every day.

an ophthalmological hospital with several locations in India, founded by Dr.
Venkataswamy in 1976. Since then it has grown into a network of eye hospitals
