DRN works towards pulling seamless humanitarian assistance from public agencies and the engineering – construction industry on a global scale in case of natural disasters. The Company has come out with a DRN India Research Study that helps engineering-construction companies translate their core competencies into specific disaster response and mitigation activities. DRN India is a part of National Disaster Mitigation Authority’s Corporate Sector Task Force, assisting the latter to draw up terms of reference for disaster management and private sector participation. In 2006-07, DRN India provided resource support in a three-day workshop on Disaster Preparedness and Management for the NGO sector in India. It also organized a two-day Executive Training program of volunteers covering aspects of search and rescue, medical emergencies and preparedness.
Educational Initiatives
The challenge of closing the productivity gap vis--vis global competition is more acute in infrastructure sector. Support to technical education is a logical extension of the pioneering vision of building strong infrastructure across the length and breadth of the country.
