Mumbai: For parents scouting around for schools, students in search of the right junior college and teachers looking for a schedule of teacher-training workshops, the information will soon be available at the click of a mouse.

   The deputy director of education plans to launch an official website in April that will act as a ready reckoner for both students and teachers, with details of schools, junior colleges, diploma in education courses and schedules for various programmes conducted by the government throughout the year.
   We want the website to be a user-friendly portal for all those who seek information about education in the region, says Sheila Tiwari, deputy director of education. The website will have details on institutions in Mumbai, Thane and Raigad.
   Students who have passed Class X this year wont need to look too far when it comes to choosing a junior college with the desired courses. Not only will the website list the junior colleges in the region, but it will also specify the subjects on offer at each college.
   Both parents and teachers said such a website will be hugely beneficial to them.
