HELP – Health Education Library for People is the world’s largest free health library. We help patients to become better patients! We can help you understand your health and medical problems better, so you can get better care, in partnership with your doctor. Easy-to-read pamphlets, magazines, newsletters, videos, CD-ROMs, and health books, facilitate your access to information.
Free Health Talks
Leading doctors are invited every Saturday to talk about the latest developments in the medical field. This is then followed by a question/answer session in which you are free to ask any question. It’s a walk-in session, and you get a chance to interact with medical experts free!
Medical advice at your door-step
There are times when your sickness takes a toll on your physical well-being, and though you desperately need to find out more about your treatment options, your body might not allow you to do so. HELP is happy to extend you a helping
hand, and we are happy to answer questions free by email (helplibrary@gmail.com)
We can also deliver a comprehensive customized health information package to your home, so that you can read it at your leisure. This package comes at a reasonable price of Rs. 500/- only.

Help your doctor help you
When you fall ill, you are naturally very anxious and worried, as a result of which you may forget to tell your doctor certain key medical information. To correctly diagnose a problern, it is very important you provide your doctor on accurate medical history.
SAFE is a fool-proof way to help your doctor help you
Story: S is your Story. This is what doctors call a medical history. You simply need to tell the story of your illness in your own words. The best way is to do this in chronologic order, starting with when you first started feeling unwell. It’s a good idea to list all your symptoms, and if you write these down, it will help you ensure you don’t forget anything important. Try to be as objective as possible – it’s helpful to pretend you are a third party, reporting on the symptoms.
Assessment: A is your Assessment, of what you feel is wrong with you. You don’t need to diagnose your own problem – just to let your doctor know what you feel is responsible for your problem. After all, you are the expert on your own body!
Fears: F is your Fears of what you are worried may happen to you as a result of your illness. Are you worried this will affect your ability to play tennis? work? affect your future fertility? The best way to overcome your fears is to discuss these with your doctor.
Expectations: E is your Expectations of what you want from your doctor. Do you want
him to run some tests to reassure you that all is well? Do you just want pain relief? Do you want an accurate diagnosis from your doctor?
