Green service scheme for students gets govt nod……Sanjeev Shivadekar
Mumbai: The state government has given its consent for the introduction of Environment Service Scheme (ESS),on the lines of the National Service Scheme (NSS),in school and junior colleges.The go-ahead was given at the weekly state cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
Students enrolling for ESS will have to put in three hours a week doing outdoor projects to understand the importance of environment.The students will get twenty grace marks on the completion of two years of study.
Ten schools from six revenue division of the state will be selected for the project on a pilot basis.Each selected school will have a group of 50 students for the project.
