FLAMINGO FESTIVAL BY BNHS FROM OCT 3
BOMBAY Natural History Society (BNHS) has organised a ‘Flamingo Festival’ from October three to create awareness about the pink birds visiting Mumbai for the last 10 years. The festival will be held from October three to eight on the occasion of Wildlife Week to learn more about the thousands of colourful visitors at Sewri in central Mumbai coast.
Two species of flamingoes began visiting Mumbai since 1994 and they usually come to the costal Sewri in the last week of October and stay upto May-June the following year.
During the festival, the Society will put up an exhibition, screen films related to flamingoes and also organise special activities for children, BNHS added. PTI
