ACB finds Rs 1cr assets with official
July 27: On Tuesday, the officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted searches at various places including the office, residence and other premises of the deputy general manager of the Water Board, Mr Manda Amarender Reddy. Disproportionate assets worth Rs 1 crore have been unearthed so far.
Mr Reddy’s assets include two houses, 19 plots and about 40 acres of agricultural land in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medak and Mahbubnagar. An amount of Rs 80,000, two bank lockers and eight bank accounts were also found.
The lockers yielded 500 gm and 250 gm of gold. The bank balance in the eight accounts is being ascertained. In addition, several property documents and promissory notes were also found and are being verified. “Searches started at 6 am and lasted till 8.30 pm. We came to know that he had given loan to the tune of Rs 45 lakh to 31 persons by taking post dated cheques. We have collected the phone numbers and names of those persons and will question them,” said the ACB’s DSP, Mr Sai Krishna.
