Dear Sir,
It is brought to your kind notice that (i) Alcon Public School, Phase I, Mayur Vihar, New Delhi (ii) Alcon International Public School, Phase I, Mayur Vihar, New Delhi and (iii) Ryan International Public School, Phase I, Mayur Vihar, New Delhi are running afternoon shift exclusively for the children who are admitted under freeship quota. It is submitted that the children who are given admission under freeship quota are required to be in the main school and not in afternoon school as being done by the aforementioned schools. The entire objective of providing free education of the children of weaker sections has been defeated in the manner being adopted by these schools.
The aforesaid schools have been allotted land by DDA/L&DO on throw away prices with the condition that they are required to provide admission to the extent of 25% to the children of the weaker sections and to grant them freeship.
The aforementioned schools by denying studies to these children in the main school are acting in most arbitrary and discriminatory manner. These schools are violating High Court orders, terms and conditions of allotment of land and also the terms of Delhi Government order dated 27.04.2004. There is another aspect of the matter also. These afternoon schools are totally illegal and are run without the permission of the Director of Education. There are several other schools also which are adopting the similar practice of running afternoon schools exclusively for the children admitted under freeship quota.
It is, therefore, requested that necessary action may kindly be taken against these schools so to ensure that the children admitted in the school under freeship quota are allowed to study in the main school and not in the afternoon schools. It is also requested that public notice in the Delhiâs leading newspapers may also be issued clarifying the position on this aspect of the matter to all concerned.
