| Message: | The price of this year’s calendar will be Rs200 (less than last year as there is one page less). The price of each cat cloth bag is Rs150. Are you a cat slave? Do you have cats at home and do you notice them? There are so many things I noticed my cats do, but never gave it a second thought till I made this calendar. When Xena came home, she always approached us with her tail upright. It is more than a year she is with us, but each time she goes out or comes back in, I see that her tail is standing straight with a slight bent at the tip. I always wondered why her antennae is standing up, till I read the info. Similar story with all the cats I feed in my building. The moment they see me, they all come running and all of them have their tails up in the air! Well, they are all just being friendly!!! They are trying to approach me in a friendly greeting and I till now I not understand that at all! Did you also know that- The domestic cat is the only cat species able to hold its tail vertically while walking. All wild cats hold their tails horizontally or tucked between their legs while walking. If you knew all these things, then you probably dont need to buy this calendar, but if you want to know more about your cats and their behaviour and a few other interesting facts about cats, then you will find 12 pages filled with cat pictures showing each behaviour and a interesting fact to go with it. Last year’s calendar has helped in sterilising more than 40 cats in Mumbai which belonged to some hoarders and some were feral cats at the fish market. I am hoping that people all over the country support me and help in generating enough funds so we can help many more cats and many more people who are working to rescue sick and injured animals. Paypal (only if out of India) the best would be if you can come home to pick your copy and meet the kitty gang! This year 10% of the profits will go for Kirti’s (photographer for the calendar) cause of wildlife conservation (saving tigers). Also, this year, I am in touch with Dhruv Lakra from Mirakle couriers (you can look up their website- www.miraklecouriers.com), who employs deaf people to do their delivery. So when you buy a calendar this year, you are Helping street animals Helping in conservation of wildlife Helping a physically challanged person earn a living. My so called animal lover friends used to call me a ‘crazy cat lady’ and I would get angry. Well, I realised that I am crazy about cats and rather than feeling sad at being ridiculed, I would love to show off! So, if you are a cat lover and if you want to flaunt it, buy a few bags for yourself and your friends and be proud of yourself! These bags will be priced at approx Rs150 per bag and will be made by tribal women in Sanjay Gandhi National Park or by NGO’s working for women empowerment.
