Guidelines for Karmayog Chapters
The idea behind setting up Karmayog Chapters in different cities of India is to extend the activities and reach of the Karmayog community beyond its online presence on the Karmayog e-group and its physical presence in Mumbai.
A Karmayog Chapter is a city-wide initiative, and it is expected that issues of broad, city- wide interest and scope will be addressed.
Karmayog Chapters are envisioned to act as a networking platform for NGOs and concerned citizens of that city, and facilitate interaction from and to various Government agencies in that city.
As the scope and range of activities and issues of a Chapter increases, each Chapter may set up Focus Groups for particular areas of interest such as education, public health, etc.
A Karmayog Chapter provides concerned citizens and local groups with a platform to work with like-minded citizens for issues and projects of their interest
The Karmayog-Chennai Chapter was started by Raj Varadarajan on June 17th 2007.
