Our Work:
The Save Our Sisters (SOS) unit is an initiative for combating trafficking and was set up in 2001. The SOS programme focuses on the (i) Prevention of human trafficking from the vulnerable areas (ii) Rehabilitation of trafficked survivors so as to prevent re-trafficking and (iii) Advocacy for supportive policies
The Adolescent Girl programme provides life skills to over 800 girls in the slums of Mumbai each year. They are provided with livelihood skills as well as conversational English, basic legal rights, entrepreneurial and management fundamentals.
Our Education Programme through the Balwadi and Comprehensive study centre project works towards ensuring right to education, health and nutrition to each and every child. We create opportunities for underprivileged children, there by enabling their all round development and ensuring successful completion of their pre-primary, primary and middle school education.
Presently we are running 150 Balwadis and 60 Study centres in various Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Schools and Slum Communities of Mumbai.
The entire programme is designed at three levels Child, Education System and the larger Community, thus ensuring participation of all stake holders.
We are looking for some excellent professionals to join us and assist in strengthening our work. This will be an exciting opportunity for professionals and individuals committed to specific issues in shaping the goals and agendas of the organization and contribute in making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable women and children in Maharashtra.
The following are the specific positions for which we are seeking candidates with passion and commitment:
(1) Job Title: Senior Programme Manager, Anti-trafficking Programme and Adolescent Girls Programme
We are looking for a Programme Manager to provide both strategic and operational leadership for both these programs and to serve the senior management team of the organization. The responsibilities are to:
- Develop both strategic and operational plans for the project by involving different internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan and manage financial resources for implementation and accomplishment of results.
- Build functional relationships with government, civil societies and other stakeholders at National, State and District levels.
- Provide leadership and manage a group professional staff through development of performance plans, on-going support and feedback.
- Establish systems and processes to monitor the progress and measure results of the program interventions.
- Serve as a senior management team member in shaping the agenda of the organization
- Design new projects and develop proposals to a range of funding organizationally, nationally and internationally
- Promote an environment for innovation, professional growth and for sharing and learning
- Be responsible for ensuring accountability in the programs and enhancing quality at all levels
- Will represent Save The Children India in national and regional forums on advocacy for combating trafficking
Key Competencies Required:
· At least 10-12 years of experience with at least 5 years of senior management experience as well as hands on grass-roots experience
· Advanced university degree in any of the fields of Social Sciences, Public Administration, International Relations, Business Administration, Public Health, Education, or other fields related to STCI.
· Significant experience in managing multi location teams, national and regional programmes/projects, donor reporting, managing information and data.
· Proficiency in developing multi year project proposals, budgeting and control, and managing multi donor contracts.
· Significant experience in setting up systems for Monitoring and Evaluation as well as MIS.
· Analytical skills, understanding of advocacy and research work and ability to contribute to strategic organizational development.
· Hands on experience of working on human rights projects and preferably on women and child protection and security related issues.

(2) Job Title: Programme Manager, Communications and Advocacy, Mumbai (with regular travel within Maharashtra)
The Programme Manager, Communications and Advocacy will report to the Senior Manager, Anti-Human Trafficking.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Programme Management (40% of time)
The Programme Manager will supervise the field implementation of Prevention programme in 2-3 districts of Maharashtra. The supervision requires:-
- Network Management and Coordination of the SOS prevention programme in the districts.
- Monitoring and Evaluation of the district level activities
- Mentoring, guidance and leadership to the district networks and the reportee Programme Officers
- Capacity Building of stakeholders and partner NGOs in advocacy initiatives and ensuring the necessary professional support, facilitating community participation rooted advocacy, convergence.
Integrating Advocacy (30% of time)
Will assist the Senor Manager in :-
- Planning and supporting the integration of advocacy work at the regional and state level in coordination with regional teams and at national and international levels.
- Coordinate and implement programme-related policy research, rooted and evidence-based advocacy, networking and lobbying initiatives.
Research and Documentation based Advocacy (25% of time)
Will assist the Senior Manager in:-
- Developing research and documentation based Advocacy towards combating human trafficking.
- To incorporate relevant conceptual frameworks and tools in advocacy work including rights-based approach.
- To analyse the issues and outcome of programme and disseminate the learning from the projects, produce & publish documents.
Organisational Support (5% of time)
Will incorporate and streamline the learnings with the organisational mission and vision. Will facilitate processes for organisational growth.
KEY COMPETENCIES:-
- Post graduate degree in mass communications, journalism, policy studies or social sciences or in any other relevant discipline involving social development policies
- 5-7 years of experience, of which atleast 3 years of advocacy work on any rights based issue is desirable

- Post graduate degree in law alongwith social work, human development, policy studies or any other relevant discipline involving social development policies
- 5-7 years of experience, of which atleast 3 years of work is based on gender related legal perspective

(4) Job Title: Field Officer (full time)
Job summary: Strengthening work in the area of advocacy and governance for education
General Responsibilities:
· The person will be responsible for creating a pressure group for advocating towards universalisation of Education.
· Networking with NGOs working in BMC Schools and a thorough understanding of their areas of expertise and resources they can offer.
· Identifying concerns of NGOs with regards to MCGM and partner with the system towards improving services.
· Understanding of working of MCGM Education Department and relevant policies and schemes
· Conducting need assessment survey in all schools, formatting and analyzing information.
Key Competencies:
§ Preferably a Masters degree in the field of Social work / Human Development or relevant subject.
§ Post qualification experience in social sector will be preferred but fresher can also apply.
§ Strong computer skills and knowledge of databases and database management
§ Excellent organizational planning and problem solving skills.
§ Good communication skills (verbal and written) in English, Hindi and Marathi.
§ Good interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with people from different national and cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and diplomacy.

(5) Job Title: Programme Officer, Mumbai
Responsibilities:
- Implementation and coordination of the Adolescent Girls project in various centres, Mumbai.
- Monitoring & evaluation of Adolescent Girls Project
- Network with other Organizations and in the organizations campaigns, advocacy initiatives and ensure linkages with networks and regional organizations on health issues.
- Documentation including analysis of project activities, report writing and development of IEC (Information Education and Communication) material
- Facilitation of trainings for Vocational teachers and participation in exhibitions etc.
Key Competencies:
- Post Graduate in Social Work or related fields and keen interest to work on Adolescent girls and women issues.
