Men Against Violence and Abuse MAVA, India first men organization established in 1993, has been working towards building a movement that explores the role of men as partners addressing gender issues, including gender-based violence against women, through cultural advocacy, direct intervention and youth education.
MAVA urgently needs a Project Co-ordinator to co-ordinate it various Projects reaching out to adolescent boys and young men. These include Periodic Gender Awareness and Training to male youths in select colleges of Mumbai on issues of gender, sexuality, health, masculinities and violence against women, Personalized and Telephonic Counseling and Guidance to needy men and women, Publications, Awareness Campaigns and Collaborative Programs with women groups.
We want a Male Candidate preferably an MSW from a recognized College of Social Work, aged between 25-30 years, preferably with 1- 2 years experience in the field of development. (Fresh candidates may also apply) He should be interested in working on issues of gender and sexuality among youths, should have skills in leadership, team-work, counseling, communication and documentation and is willing to travel. He should have a reasonably good knowledge of spoken and written Marathi and Hindi.
