Do we noticed surrounding for a while especially public places like railway stns, bus stand, even roads ?
there is plastic all around in for of small pouches …no we are not talking about plastic bags , everyone know about it but i am pointing towards gutkha/pan masala pouches..people having it had habit
of throwing it at a very place they consume.also the spit everywhere
or they find the appropriate place ( or they find the place someone
earlier marked & made it their permanent place ) the problem is not them or
the guthka but they don’t have a right place to throw the litter or idea
where to spit. lets not talk about the health hazard of consuming tobacco product talk about the problem of guthka pouches ,spiting habit & possible solution.
there would be many solutions..lets say there should be specially
designed bins for guthka pouches which should be placed at all public
places on every 20 – 30 feet’ so that they can throw it into. or the pouches
should be made of thin paper & it can be crushed and thrown …also the paper
is bio degradable & easy to swipe out or put guthka vending machine like cola or condom vending m/cs which gives guthka, tobaco in paper pouches.
& the spating habit…oh! we don’t required guthka or pan for that … its our
fundamental right & no body should stop us… jokes apart the problem is same… no place or idea where to relieve..
now imagine we had a paper pouches freely available every where shops , public places & buses can easily fit into pocket …spit into it..twist upper side like a chocolate wrapper &
throw it in the same bins. the poches can be designed in diff. shapes & sizes but essentially made out of paper. the cost can be recovered from guthka manufacturars, idndirect & direct taxes…yes…this seems very easy to imagine but hard to implement …now ask the authorities to act; like fine , punishment to offenders
since we had provided the method & accessories to carry their habit without
affecting public place …we should carry a pilot project in a small town instead
of big city & see the results ? the cost for this can be recoverd by direct/indirect
tax on prodct & manufacturars.
no they won’t change their habit let us change for them
& help them to become responsible citizens …one of the many ideas
for the problem …. is there anything different in your mind ?
please come with solution than the problem …
