Leader of Opposition in the RMC, Narendrasinh Jadeja, said that the âget well soon’ message will be delivered from Monday evening and all BJP office-bearers, including acting mayor Jasumatiben Vasani and top RMC officials, will be presented flowers.
He said that despite prevalence of viral diseases and mosquito menace, irregular water supply, filthy streets city mayor Dhansukh Bhaderi and standing committee chairman Nitin Bhardwaj opted to go on a leisure trip to UK, on the pretext of a twin city agreement with Lester.
He said that instead of shouting slogans, Congress will adopt Mahatma Gandhi’s path to treat the âsick’ BJP officer-bearers and RMC officials with flower therapy, a la âLage Raho Munnabhai’. Congress workers will also reach Rajkot airport at the time of arrival of the mayor and standing committee chairman from Lester to give them flowers, as they are suffering from serious illness, said Jadeja.
City Congress president Jaswantsingh Bhatti has decided to send an email to Lord mayor councillor Paul Westley of Lester city to warn him against Bhanderi. Jaswantsingh said that he wants to warn the Lester mayor that they can learn disco dandia or how to keep a city untidy, but not good things from Bhanderi.
He said that in any case, he (Bhanderi) would not come back with any concrete project for the betterment of the city, like his party’s other mayors in the past.
He said that even Rajkot municipal commissioner Mukesh Kumar went on a long leave, following an attack on him by BJP councillors. At present, RMC’s administration is being run by the acting mayor and acting commissioner.
The Congress leaders also requested Rajkotians to send get well soon messages to RMC officials. When contacted, acting mayor Jasuben Vasani said that her party, with the co-operation of officials, was doing excellent work to solve civic problems, but Congress was raking up imaginary issues to mislead the public.
