November 22: Mumbai: Adoption Meet

“People’s Group for Child Adoption in India(PGCAI)“ would be having its first Adoption Meet in Mumbai on the coming Saturday.

Venue: Tea Center, Near Churchgate Station, Mumbai
Date: November 22nd, 2008 (Saturday)
Time: 10:30 AM

PGCAI is a voluntary group serving as a platform to bring together current adoptive parents, people who want to adopt in future and anyone who wants to spread a word about adoption.

Agenda of the Meet

1. Introductions and understanding current adoption related knowledge of the members.

2. Understanding the real problems being faced by existing adoption centers and orphanages in promoting adoption and thereby helping them in the process

The plan of action in near future would be planning a joint visit to such centers or alternatively visiting centers individually/in smaller groups based on proximity to places of stay/work. The aim would be to understand the whole process of adoption in a better manner.

3. Exploring promotion of adoption at corporate forums and amongst society (friends, relatives, etc.) Some handouts/PPTs can be used containing basics of adoption and the related procedures.
