December 18 – 20: Chennai: Workshop on Community Participation and Facilitation Skills
Greetings. An Indian telecentre.org Academy Jamsetji Tata Training School(JTS) and Grameen Gyan Abhiyan Secretariat is conducting a three day training workshop on Community Participation and Facilitation Skills during 18-20 December 2008 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) at M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, Chennai.
This programme is supported by telecentere.
The main focus of the training programme is to strengthen the capacity of participants to plan and implement the community based developmental activities.
On 18th December 2008 several aspects such as introduction of participants, expectations of participants, introduction of the training programme, introduction of community participation, introduction of community development and community participation in different context will be discussed.
On 19th December 2008 several aspects such as different levels of community participation, obstacles to community participation, advantages and challenges of community participation, steps and strategies to approach community, introduction of facilitation and facilitation skills will be dealt with.
On 20th December 2008 the participants will go to two villages in Puducherry (165 km away from Chennai) for getting hands on experiences on facilitation skills in community participation. After lunch the summing up session including feed back and evaluation will be held.
The participants will reach Chennai around 2030 hrs on 20th December 2008.
