December 05: Mumbai: World Volunteer Day — against terror
November 26th 2008 is a date that will remain in our memory forever. We saw a long 62 hour attack by terrorists on our people, our heritage, our infrastructure, our spirit and our souls. We heard cries and shouts of help and despair as we struggled to bring our nation and its’ people to safety. All of us have become part of this massive tragedy.we have lost our brothers and sisters and we have seen vicious attacks on our heritage and property.
We at SOSVA, hope and pray that all your near and dear ones are safe and secure. We share the grief of hundreds of families who have lost their people and SOSVA stands by the nation in its’ hour of crisis.
SOSVA salutes all martyrs especially the defense and the police forces, who have laid down their lives to protect and free us from terror. We thank all the defense force who rescued many lives and who successfully eliminated the terrorists. The stories of their bravery and courage will be passed down generations in the days to come and we will always be grateful to them for restoring our nation to safety.
It is now time for us to come together and help those around us, especially those who have suffered in these attacks, to bring life back to normalcy. It is equally important for us to realize why such an episode occurred on such a massive scale. It is time to wake up to the voice which has long been calling us to be the change that we want to see. We are the people and we shall take our nation to much greater heights.
It is with this spirit, that SOSVA is paying tribute to the unique spirit of volunteerism and is organizing the World Volunteer Day on
5th December 2008, 12pm onwards at the Vivekanand Auditorium, Ram Krishna Mission, Ram Krishna Marg, Road no. 12, Khar (W), Mumbai, 400052.
At times like these, volunteers need to come together in greater strengths and think, plan and implement the way forward.the time is now to ensure that we see light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Request all to be present on the above mentioned day and join us in our spirit for the way forward.
