UID project given to MindTree……….Pankaj Lakhotia
MindTree the IT solutions company recently got the Application Development and Maintenance contract for the project previously known as the Unique Identification project or UID. Aadhaar gave the company, MindTree which is worth over Rs 1,300-crore the contract. MindTree did not release the cost of the deal.
The contract involved will give from Bangalore IT center, UIDAIs help in developing, testing, designing, maintenance and other services for the company. CFO Rostow Ravanan said This can open many more opportunities for us because the project involves a lot of implementations and supporting work in future.
MindTree shares saw a 3.41% increase to close at Rs. 569.40 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Aadhaars Nandan Nilekani a government identification program which will work with MindTree to develop a biometric verification system for every Indian citizen. MindTree will help create a software implementation program which will be based the UIDAIs program.

The Unique Identification project which will be released by the company will contain personal details like photo, identification mark , finger biometrics and marital status along with the name ,age, sex and address of the cardholder.
Carlyle Group which is the worlds largest equity firm set up a deal with the company.
MindTree said the project commenced its work a few weeks ago and will is now in the earl stages of designing the project. The company officials said that a project of such magnitude will be complex and time consuming and those involved in the project must be sure to not make errors.
